Nah Right » Blog Archive » Remy Ma Wanted for Attempted Murder

Well over 400 comments on the subject of here involvement in the shooting and her turing herself in and being charged with attempted murder.

With rap hitting an all time low in music sales, and many rappers using street cred to boost sales, I think this comment is the best out of the 400+ posted:

That says allot.

The year’s ten best rap albums so far

The year’s ten best rap albums so far

Bryancrowford.com has come up with an apparently controversial list of the best 10 rap albums for 2007. Plently of people had something to say about the list:

Posted by: dameSTAtus | Jul 6, 2007 3:28:51 PM

Pretty crap year, I agree. Not only did I only buy one cd on that list, but it’s the only one I listen to. I did cop the newish High Priest disc, which is pretty good spliff music, but it’s probably too weird/backpacky for most of you.

Well over 4+ comments on the issue. If your interested check it out and make some noise in the comments.

Ok, I decided to start including stuff on the net that is most linked to. Its not the most comment interaction, but it still has some merrit as people are still reacting to the material in some fashion. I probably won’t do this oftenand when I do it will be based on YouTube and Technoroti.

At any rate, here are the stats:

1537637 clicks from http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user…

483825 clicks from http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user…

320930 clicks from http://www.myspace.com/falloutboy

39461 clicks from http://myspace.com/falloutboy

23622 clicks from http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user…

The MySpace links are not a surprise since there are many articles on  how MySpace and YouTube are sort of connected at the hip when it comes to linking to each other. Probably the big reason MySpace is trying to get its foothold on the video scape by having its own video “utube”.

Here are some other “Most Linked To” on YouTube (notice that most are music videos… ha:

RICH BOY – BOY LOOKA HERE – MUSIC VIDEO WORLD PREMIERE!!!

Avril Lavigne – Girlfriend

GYM CLASS HEROES: Cupid’s Chokehold / Breakfast in America

Fergie – Glamorous: Closed Captioned

Oh and to not totally ignore the… very interesting… comment on the video, here are some clips:

This band has to have some connection with NOKIA. you see the same nokia phone at 00.24, 01.47 and 02.08. This isn’t a music video, its a COMMERCIAL! And if you look at their ‘video’ for ‘This aint a scene…” it has even more shots of the phone!

This video was put on-line 2 months ago… considering the fact that other videos that have been the most discussed video on YouTube was on the site for 5 months or more (except Midnight Express truth revealed by Alinur Part-1 which is quite an interesting video…  on YouTube for 3 months… also Beatboxing flute inspector gadget remix which is soooo LMAO), this is an extremely successful video.

Trent Reznor: “No wonder people steal music.”

People steal music? NO WAY MAN!!! Its called borrowing it until it is useless and then giving it back… lol Who makes up these comments? For a site like Digg, I am surprised that there wasn’t mre comments for this article link. 117 seams tame for a subject like this. The link got over 2600+ diggs, but the comments… why so low? Interesting…

Digg Link Pick Quote:

The NIN frontman blogs: “As the climate grows more and more desperate for record labels, their answer to their mostly self-inflicted wounds seems to be to screw the consumer over even more. A couple of examples that quickly come to mind…” He then details how his own label insists on screwing fans, and how he hopes to counteract that soon.

thanx for posting this, so you could shut up the other websites posting breakup rumors, it seem that when something is goin good, especially for black ppl, folks look for things to be wrong. Go ahead monica, i love you, always have, always will and i wish you and your fmily the best

And somehow the comments got into how Monica dresses her kids…

I don’t know what I think about a blog that removes comments the moderator disagrees with. Should we get on here and ride Monica’s jock? She publically makes bad decisions on the regular. She puts her son out there for scrutiny in that ridiculous clothing posing like a rough neck, dates married murderers (C-Murder) and suicidal thugs and jobless strip club dwellers. I know the music industry would have to you to think all black people are down with criminal/ghetto culture, but as comments across many blogs would suggest, that is not the case. I thought she would outgrow this madness soon enough, but she appears to have some kind of mental block when it comes to behaving like a grown ass woman.

In what such a fashion do other 2 year old models/kids wear Sean John and Rocawear exactly?

Sandra, why did you remove the comments regarding the way Monica dresses her son in his thug attire? Readers were just stating the truth? Nothing negative was being said about her child – who is beyond precious and undoubtedly favoured by God and supported by many :-)…the child is innocent in the matter. Responses were to the childs’ parents in portraying their son and dressing him to look like a lil’ gangstar. Then she states that she is supporting our black designers, however none of the Sean John and Roc’have kid models modeling their clothing in such a fashion. Monica no one is hating, simply stating a fact that in many of your childs pictures that you have shared with the world, you dress your child to look like a thug. But honey, to each his own..peace.

monica is an awesome woman, PERIOD. and love is beautiful. as far as her son’s attire goes, she may dress her son as she feels. i know a lot of young black men on honor roll in high school, college students that do very well, and even a principal of an engineering firm who dresses this way and none of them are thugs and never have been. it’s sad that people look at your attire to judge your character. i guess when i show my legs and little cleavage, i’m seen as a whore although i have 2 degrees, volunteer in my community, have a ruthless investment portfolio, make my own money, and am married. some people…(shaking head)
Apr 30, 2007 11:28:00 AM

That last comment is interesting… but so are the others. While the rumor of her breaking up with him due to bad boyfriend-ing oon Rock’s part seems to pale in comparison to a kid being dressed up in what you would see an adult wearing… or more to the point, a urban youth wearing… or even MORE to the point someone who is into Hip Hop culture… or even more extremely to the point thugged out. (Why did WordPress spell check want to turn “thugged” into “hugged”? LOL. There is a hidden message in there. Don’t we all need a hug?)

I can imagine that this will come up later somehow.

Sandra Rose: Fan Mail: Olivia Moves On

Sandra Rose: Fan Mail: Olivia Moves On

I can’t say I was a fan of hers. She honestly seemed like a add on that many Hip Hop and rap groups seem to do. Get the “first lady” of the group to round out the musical offerings.

This group has a first lady, that group has a “first lady”… for example: Bad Boy had Faith Evans, and DTP (Disturbing The Peace) had Shawnna (I think both left their respective groups). Other Hip Hop (or more specifically Rap) groups or labels have their “first lady” as well and so the fad was started.

With Olivia, she never seemed to fit in to me. I remember one behind the scenes report where she said that she basically has her own tour bus beecause she isn’t into the “puff – puff pass” and smokey rooms. Whaaaa?????

No suprise there are rumors of 50 pushing up on her and trying to harrass. I wasn’t there soooo… but doesn’t it fit his character profile?

Anyway, she has left the building. She says she won’t be filing any charges… how would she really prove her case anyway???… and is starting her own label.

As  popular as this blog site is, there are only 12 comments on this story.

Here are some of the comments on the blog post:

wow that publicist or whatever just very casually said that she was “sexually harassed on occasions” like it was no big deal. Apparently it’s not a big deal to Olivia either, otherwise she’d had him charged, right? WTF…

tbrown said… Wow. A lingerie and fragrance line through Victoria’s Secretions? LOL. Way to go! How the hell did she ‘do’ it? Touring Brazil?

I remember her from way back when…I forget that song she had, but I liked it. I’m glad she’s getting on about her business. When I first read/heard/saw that she’d signed with GUnit, I kinda shook my head. These labels are so copycat-like lately. You have a primary rap artist, then lesser solo rap artists underneath, and then a chica who sings the hook (or guest raps) on everybody’s album, and if she’s lucky, she’ll get her own record which may/may not sell… (con’t)

SANDRA, I HAVE TO KEEP IT REAL WITH YOU. FIRST, YOU ARE COVERING MONICA A LITTLE TOO MUCH. SHE’S COOL BUT..HOW CAN I PUT IT GENTLY…IT’S NOT WHATS POPPIN RIGHT NOW. I LIKE TO GO IN AND READ COMMENTS ON DIFFERENT GOSSIP WEBSITES, AND I THINK YOU ARE TRYING TO MICRO-MANAGE COMMENTS A LITTLE TOO MUCH. GOSSIP IS ABOUT SAYING WHATEVER YOU WANT TO SAY (IM ONLY POSTING THIS HERE BECAUSE YOU CAN’T POST UNDER THE MONICA COMMENTS). I FELT IT WAS IMPORTANT TO SAY THIS BECAUSE YAHOO RECENTLY NAMED THE TOP 10 GOSSIP WEBSITES (A FEW WERE BLACK OWNED), AND YOURS WAS NOT LISTED. I USED TO BE A BIG FAN OF YOUR WEBSITE, AND I FIND MYSLEF NOT VISITING AS MUCH. I SHOULD BE ABLE TO GO IN A COMMENT LOG AND SAY WHATEVER I WANT TO SAY (AS LONG AS THERE IS NO PROFANITY). I WON’T NAME ANY NAMES, BUT THE MOST POPULAR GOSSIP SITE ON THE WEB BELIEVES IN FREEDOM OF SPEECH. YOU SEEM TO HAVE BEEN DOING OK WITH YOUR SITE, BUT YOU ARE BEGINNING TO BECOME OVERSHADOWED BY THE COMPETITION.

OF COURSE, THIS IS ONLY AN OPINION

Apr 30, 2007 8:40:00 PM

Some interesting opinions. I like the “whateva” comment. Straight and to the point. You know how this persoon feelsabout the subject.

» AKON NOT ONLY HUMPED A 14 YR. OLD…*UPDATE* » CONCRETELOOP.COM » WE GIVE YALL THE STYLE TO RUN WITH.

If you go to celebrity blogs, entertainment news site, and sites on child wellfare, you probably read something about this. Apparently a kid of 14 got into a concert, got on stage, and got felt up.

Worst, if there can be a worst, is that it was published on YouTube so that a few million others could see it all around the world. I wonder when she gets older will it be harder for her to get work? Employers are looking at the internet to find out who they are hiring. If stuff keeps getting posted on the internet at this rate, no one will be working.

The post on the blog link above got well over 300 comments. This blog post the actual video and pictures of the girl (who looks way older… or is at least dressed way older than she should be). at the club and then in normal clothes.

Most blame the girl, others blame the music, still some more blame Akon (the artist who held the humping contest).

Most intersting post:

Clearminded said:

Well, now see, I need more info. Did the girl have “14 year old” stamped across her forehead when she entered the club? She sure is dressed like a grown-ass woman, and she’s dropping it like it’s hot like a pro stripper. I mean this ain’t no R. Kelly situation where the dude was trolling inside a middle school.

And this is coming from someone who hates me some Akon and thought the whole humping thing was tasteless. However, that’s what goes on in many dancehalls.

It’s a interesting read… peoples opinions on this makes it more interesting.
