Panic at the commercial Real Estate market « The Theroxylandr in Flame

Not the first time I read about this. I don’t have the link for the other time. For me, I wonder about the Dow getting to 13000. It just seems really inflated. The housing market seems to be falling apart (which is good and bad news for those who want to own a home… good because there are some nice deals, bad because who is going to give you a loan?).

A WordPress featured article, theroxylandr thinks its another Febuary 23 except it won’t be the sub prime loans.

16 thoughtful comments (in case you want to know more about this, the article and the comments are a good starting point) including:

Gramercy, which reported after the bell Wednesday, had a solid Q1 and particularly strong credit results. GKK has yet to experience an actual loan loss. In fact, SFI and RAS have recently levered up even more because their ROEs have been so strong. Many of the commercial mREITs have done an excellent job of diversifying geographically through joint ventures in Europe and throughout the U.S. I wouldn’t bet against the commercial mREITs right now, particularly as traditional sources of financing through the depository instuitions are drying up in the wake of the subprime blowup.
